Why Enzo Fernandez fumed at Chelsea stars as Gary Neville gives damning Frank Lampard verdict

Great news for Chelsea supporters – we're now just two games away from the end of the season.

Sunday afternoon's 1-0 defeat to newly-crowned Premier League champions Manchester City now means there are just 180 minutes remaining of the 2022/23 campaign. A season that has been utterly disastrous for Chelsea Football Club and one the club's loyal fan base are desperate to reach its conclusion.

What we saw on Sunday, though, definitely wasn't the worst we've seen from the Blues this term. Far from it. But there was – which at this point is just predictable now – a severe lack of end product.

With all of this being said, football.london takes a look at some moments you may have missed from the defeat at the Etihad Stadium...

Fernandez furious with Chelsea teammates

In the 53rd minute of Chelsea's defeat to Man City, there was a moment where Enzo Fernandez was left furious with his teammates and the lack of options he had. After advancing into the final third, Enzo looked up and there were none of his teammates anywhere to be seen.

Fernandez then furiously put both of his arms out either side and looked around to see where his colleagues were. It did seem a bit strange because Chelsea were of course losing 1-0 at the time and Frank Lampard would surely have encouraged his players to join the attack more in the second period.

Neville gives Lampard verdict

Gary Neville believes Lampard's body language in the first-half did not reflect well on a lot of his players. The Sky Sports camera panned to the interim Chelsea boss at one point who cut a deflated figure after seeing his side give away a sloppy goal in the game.

Neville said on commentary: "Every time I look at Frank Lampard he's got a look of a manager who doesn't like his players. Chelsea need the end of the season, badly."

Gallagher greets Grealish

While the Man City players were readying themselves to go out on the pitch and lift their third Premier League trophy in as many seasons, there were still come Chelsea stars in and around the tunnel area. Conor Gallagher was one of them and the Blues midfielder went and hugged Jack Grealish to say congratulations before the City attacker re-entered the pitch.

Wesley Fofana was alongside Gallagher and the Frenchman also showed great sportsmanship and nodded at a few City players, while winking at Bernardo Silva.
