Why eight people on this Welsh street won't have to worry about their bank balance after Christmas

Lucky neighbours on a south Wales street have received a late Christmas present after winning a cash prize from the Postcode Lottery.

Residents in Neath Port Talbot have scooped £1,000 each after discovering their postcode, SA11 2SG, was a daily prize winner on Friday.

The eight neighbours, living in Llansawel, have won as part of the People's Postcode Lottery where a minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities.

Also receiving a post-Christmas surprise were six neighbours in Sully , in the Vale of Glamorgan, who also won a £1,000 cash prize on Friday morning.

The Nailsea Court residents netted the prize money when CF64 5SQ was also announced as a daily prize winner.

5 ways to increase your chances of winning the lottery

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wished to the winners.

He said: "What a brilliant surprise to get just after Christmas! Congratulations to our winners in Neath and Sully."

This draw was promoted by War Child which has received over £11.3 million in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

It works to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children in areas effected by conflict.
