Former Premier League striker Dean Ashton was "gutted" for Nottingham Forest supporters on Saturday afternoon.
Fans had waited over 100 days to see their side in action but it was a bittersweet return on a weekend that saw the majority of the division's top clubs slip up.
Sabri Lamouchi's side were ahead for twenty minutes at Hillsborough - but Sheffield Wednesday forward Connor Wickham was on hand to force a dagger into Reds hearts right at the death.
But Ashton was impressed by Lamouchi's side who he says have reason to feel hard done by to only leave South Yorkshire with a point.
"Defensively they are excellent and organised - and at times they're throwing their bodies on the line," he told EFL on Quest.
"Worrall especially, that’s a clear goal without that intervention," he continued as he watched clips of the defenders' heroics.
"That is brilliant from the defender, and this man [Joe] Lolley, I really, really like him as a player. It’s not only the first touch. He takes a tiny little touch, the second touch just to cushion it, and then a wonderful finish and he’s probably been their player of the season."
The late equaliser for Wednesday came two minutes into added time and prevented Forest from closing the gap between themselves and the top two.

"He just pins Figueiredo here," said Ashton. "Figueiredo doesn’t even get off the ground. You’re expecting a defender to jump above him there.
"It's a bullet header into the top corner and a vital header as well for Sheffield Wednesday."
He added: "I am gutted for Forest."
