Why Edinson Cavani would have a bigger impact at Manchester United than Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea

The transfer window remains open for a few more weeks and a host of players continue to be linked with a move to Manchester United, including a wealth of forwards.

With Marcus Rashford out of action for a few months, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may find himself to be short of options in the final third in the fixtures that lie ahead.

One name doing the rounds for a number of Premier League clubs is Edinson Cavani, following the news that he has handed in a transfer request at Paris Saint-Germain.

As well as United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal have all been linked with a potential move for the experienced Uruguayan forward to bolster their chances of making the top-four.

SportNation.bet has taken a look at how the signing of Cavani can impact the four clubs - and it is Manchester United who would seemingly benefit the most from his arrival.

United are currently tipped at 5/2 to secure a top-four finish and Champions League football next season, but if they sign Cavani their odds shorten to 2/1 - an increase of 4.76%.

By comparison, Chelsea are 2/5 to seal a top-four finish both with or without Cavani, while Spurs are currently 11/2 to finish in the top four and 9/2 with Cavani's signature - an increase of 2.8%.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's hopes of a top-four finish cannot be saved either way as they are currently 18/1 to secure a Champions League spot and 16/1 if they sign Cavani, an increase of just 0.62%.
