Why Eagles fans should be excited about Miles Sanders

With the 53rd pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Penn State running back Miles Sanders.

Sanders only has one year as a starter, having sat behind New York Giants star Saquon Barkley until 2018. However, he has the physical tools of a long-term starter. He has a compact frame and runs with impressive contact balance. He also has good athleticism and can cover a lot of room on his cuts. Sanders also offers value on passing downs, as he is a fluid receiver with smooth hands.

The Eagles traded for Jordan Howard this offseason, but they needed a running back with value as a receiver for their West Coast-style offense. Sanders has three-down potential and can develop into a steady starter.
