Why Don't Tell the Bride decided to cancel couple's wedding for the first time

A couple have been left heartbroken after their Don't Tell The Bride wedding was cancelled by the show's producers.

Yanis Wilkinson Teece and fiancee Shanise Frame had their big day axed after they broke the rules of the E4 show.

The popular series puts the groom in charge of planning a wedding, who is not allowed any help or interaction from the bride.

However, producers discovered the couple had been communicating with each other and were forced to take action, Birmingham Live reports .

They discovered that Shanise had been going through Yanis's emails to look for clues about the wedding.

When they asked Yanis what had happened, he told them: "Shanise got access to my iPad with my emails in there, so technically the bride wasn't told, she found out through email."

The couple were then interviewed on camera a week later and confessed they were "heartbroken".

Shanise said: "The last couple of days have been quite difficult - the first night we were like, what is happening, it was very heartbreaking."

Yanis said: "I try not to think about it.  I'm trying to detach myself from the whole situation and what's happened. I understand what Shanise did, but I don't agree with it, it wasn't right thing to do."

It is the first time in the programme's history that an entire wedding has been cancelled.
