Why Doctor Who fans need to visit the world famous Tardis toilet in Warmley

Of all the places you'd expect to find the Tardis, you probably wouldn't think of a quaint little tea room on the side of a popular cycle route. Furthermore, you probably wouldn't expect to open the Tardis door and see a Victorian-style loo waiting for you but, then again, the Doctor Who universe is full of strange surprises.

The Tardis toilet is located at Warmley Waiting Room, just next to the Bristol to Bath Railway Path. Created in a replica Tardis from the Doctor Who television series, it's even been featured in a book all about unusual loos - making it pretty famous.

What's more, it's been voted one of the best loos in the world, featuring in the book of the top 100 toilets in the world - and to think it cost just over £3,000. Owners of the Tardis toilet, or 'Who Loo' as it has been dubbed, paid £1,800 for the police box and spent a further £1,500 transforming it into a luxury loo for customers at the Warmley Waiting Room.

The toilet is kitted out with, well, a toilet, sink, pristine silver taps, checkerboard floor and tiled walls, as well as a mirror and Dyson hand dryer. And over the years it has proven a massive hit with both Doctor Who fans and ordinary passers by, alike. Those traversing the 'cycle path' by foot, bike, roller skates or other means love stopping off for a bite to eat at the original waiting room of the old train station, tucking into homemade cakes, sandwiches and jacket potatoes surrounded by lush countryside.

The Warmley Waiting Room is situated halfway between Bristol and Bath on the railway path and welcomes every type of customer to both eat in one of the seating areas - gardens, summerhouse and platform itself - or takeaway - dogs are even welcome too.

Celebrities, like fitness coach Joe Wicks, have sampled some of the grub here - and the loos. Perhaps even the Doctor has visited during the filming in Bristol this week? Who knows.
