Why Doctor Hilary Jones won't be on Good Morning Britain next week

Viewers will get a very different Good Morning Britain next week with the absence of three regular hosts, one of them being the show's resident health expert Doctor Hilary Jones.

For the past nine weeks, Dr Hilary has been a permanent fixture on GMB from 6am and GMB with Lorraine, which follows after the main show at 9am, but next week he will be missing in action.

He won't be the only one either, as it has been confirmed that he, Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid will all be off the air next week.

And, while thousands of people have signed a petition for Piers to be sacked from the show, he hasn't been, but all three will be taking a break.

It will be the first time Dr Hilary has had a proper break for the first time in nine weeks and ITV haven't yet revealed who is replacing him or if they will still have a health expert in the studio.

Prior to his break, Dr Hilary appeared on Friday's GMB where he warned against pubs in the UK re-opening too soon and also revealed the risks of wearing a protective mask to go running.

He said: "‘There’s no guidance to suggest your should wear a mask or it’s beneficial.

‘In fact, it’s covering your mouth and your nose, it’s inhibiting your breathing to some extent and some people would say you’re rising the rate of levels of carbon dioxide you’re breathing out when you’re exercising and that’s probably not a good idea.

"‘If you’re exercising on your own, you don’t need a mask."
