Dillon Danis replacement confirmed for KSI fight after late withdrawal

The upcoming Misfits boxing event at Wembley Arena has suffered a blow with MMA star Dillon Danis withdrawing from his fight against KSI to be replaced by FaZe Temperr.

The 29-year-old has claimed to be 'underprepared' just ten days before the fight which was due to take place at Wembley Arena in North London on January 14. The news was revealed today (Wednesday) by KSI's manager Mams Taylor who confirmed the YouTube star's intention to fight against FaZe Temperr who had been set to fight at the event but did not had an opponent confirmed until stepping in as Danis' replacement.

Danis had built his reputation within MMA and once sat in Conor McGregor's corner but has since become a loud voice on social media. This led to the fight against KSI being arranged, but now with the star claiming that his lack of preparation and coach means a fight is not possible.

Taylor explained the situation to Misfits Boxing's YouTube channel, saying: "I got a phone call saying that Dillon is pulling out of the fight. For someone who cares about his reputation as much as he does or what people think of him, I didn't think that this (Danis pulling out) would be something, despite many people thinking that this would be the opposite that 'look, he's not going to show up to the fight'. They were right."

Danis slapped KSI in the face at a Misfits weigh-in in November and this ultimately led to a fight being agreed. Danis did not show up to the press conference in London last month. His new opponent is a huge internet star and in facing KSI they bring together a combined social media following of 60 million.

Speaking after confirming his new opponent, KSI said: "I mentioned at the Press Conference that Dillon was being haunted by me. He made his excuses and knew he couldn't handle what I bring to a boxing ring. This answers the question whether he's a fighter or not. He's a warrior alright, a keyboard warrior, and hopefully he's learnt to leave the real men to speak with their actions rather than hollow words."

"That being said, my focus won't be distracted from the task at hand and that's FaZe Temper. We've come head-to-head plenty of times with the Sidemen and FaZe Clan competing against each other, and it looks like we have another challenge on our hands. Credit to Temper for stepping up like a REAL fighter.”
