‘Why did she even ask if she didn’t want to?’: Man who paid for 2 dinners lets date buy him an $8 beer. Her response is telling

A man shares his frustration with his date’s reaction after he paid for the entirety of two dates. He says her attitude switched up abruptly after she offered to buy him an $8 beer after their second date.

In a video with over 448,000 views, TikToker PMarsh (@parkermarsha11) says he was happy to pay for everything when he first started dating the woman. He reiterates that he believes that men should pay for dates, especially “early on” in the relationship.

PMarsh says he paid for two $100 dinners during their first two dates. However, the relationship quickly soured after the pair went to a bar after their second date.

Did his date get mad over buying an $8 beer?

“I paid for us to get inside the bar and then I went to the bar to get some drinks,” he says. “I was just getting one because I was driving.”

When his date realizes he only plans to get a beer, she offers to pay. According to the Gentleman’s Journal, a survey respondent suggests that it’s common for women to pay for drinks if a man insists on paying for the date.

“She’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, you’ve been paying for everything. Let me buy this beer,'” he recounts.

He accepts her offer and sees her expression change.

“She looks at me like, just twitching a little bit, and bought me the beer,” he says. “But I could tell she was so mad. Instant red flag.”

The caption continues, “Fellas, you should be covering dinners and dates early on, the least she can do is offer without attitude tho. Respect goes both ways.”

How did viewers react to his frustration?

In the comments, viewers suggest that his date was playing “mind games” to see if he would expect her to pay later on.

“Mind games already on the 2nd date. Hard pass,” one says.

“The red flag is that it was a test, if someone’s ever testing you, run!!” another writes.

“That $8 beer was a blessing bc you dodged a bullet bro,” a third adds.

“It’s the mind games you don’t wana mess with. Don’t ask to do something nice as a test,” a fourth remarks.

However, some women in the comments say that they wouldn’t offer to pay for even an $8 beer.

“I feel like so embarrassed to pull out my wallet in the presence of a man. Weird for her to offer. I show my appreciation in other ways like getting him a crumbl cookie or like a trinket that reminds me of him while im out but actually being in his presence and eating the bill is way too uncomfortable to me,” a commenter suggests.

“Im not paying for anything on any date ever hope this helps,” another says.
