‘Why did she do that to herself’: Woman watches new season of Love Island. Then she recognizes the new bombshell—and people had some thoughts

Another TikToker has gone viral for recognizing a “Love Island USA” contestant from their past.

Previously, The Mary Sue covered a TikTok in which the creator said Season 7 contestant Jeremiah Brown was her high school bully. Now, another creator says she went to high school with one of the Bombshells who just entered the Villa.

‘Can confirm she was a senior in the 202[0]-2021 year’

In the viral video, Greta Eileen (@greta_eileen) writes in an on-screen caption, “When everyone is freaking out about the new chick on love island and ITS THE CHICK YOU PLAYED GOLF WITH IN HIGH SCHOOL.”

She then opens her 2020-2021 yearbook and shows a picture of Savanna Einerson, who goes by Vanna on the show.

‘She was doing injections in highschool bruh’

In the comments section, many viewers commented on Einerson’s appearance. On platforms like X, users have criticized her appearance for her seeming use of cosmetic filler, which they say ages her and makes her look “rough.” Viewers on Eileen’s post said Einerson was beautiful in high school and didn’t need plastic surgery, while others said she had filler in the high school photo as well.

“Why would she ruin her face?” one rather unkindly asked. Another who seems not to understand the concept of nicknames said, “Why she shorten her name to vanna?”

A second viewer gave a backhanded compliment, writing, “The fact you can tell she’s so naturally beautiful but she just did too much.”

Another wrote, “Yall keep saying she didn’t need filler when she absolutely has lip filler in that picture too.” Eileen liked this comment.

Some viewers accused Einerson of being a mean girl in high school, saying they saw those claims on the internet.

Eileen replied to one such commenter, saying, “I’ve heard that too. She was never mean to me but I can’t speak for everyone.”

Let’s stop making unsolicited comments on people’s appearance, perhaps?

In an Instagram post made on Wednesday, “Love Island USA” reminded fans to watch what they say on social media.

“We appreciate the fans, the passion for the series, and the amazing group of Islanders who are sharing their summer with us. Please just remember they’re real people — so let’s be kind and spread the love,” the post read.

Additionally, in an article titled, “A Plea to Viewers of Reality Dating Shows”, Psychology Today notes, “Many former cast members talk about the mental health issues they’ve suffered after appearing on a reality show. They talk about identity crises, anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, and low self-esteem. A few have committed suicide.”

So, when it comes to discussing the cast members of a reality show online, let’s remember that old rule our friend Thumper taught us: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.”

The Mary Sue contacted Eileen via TikTok comment and direct message. It contacted Einerson via email.
