Why did Patrick Peterson decide to report for OTAs now?

The Arizona Cardinals got their Pro Bowl cornerback on the practice field for the first time in the offseason. After missing the first two weeks of organized team activities, Peterson showed up for the final week of OTAs.

Because of a problem with what someone in the front office said or did regarding his upcoming six-game suspension, it was believed he was not going to report until mandatory minicamp next week.

However, he and coach Kliff Kingsbury knew this was always the plan.

Why did he show up now instead of waiting until minicamp?

It had to do with daddy duties.

“Baby Girl is in summer school now,” he told reporters after practice. “I had to take care of some family issues at home. Now that she’s in summer school. She’s in dance camp. She keeps me on my toes, so I had to take care of some family stuff at home, and now I’m happy to be back with my boys.”

There are two weeks left in spring offseason work. He will get seven practices in and then the team will break for the summer until training camp, which will begin in late July.
