'Why did Chelsea sell him?' - Nathan Ake's Bournemouth header against Southampton baffles fans

He's regarded as one of the hottest prospects to come through Chelsea's academy in recent years, and Nathan Ake is certainly giving fans a headache.

The Dutchman was one of the top graduates from the west London club's youth set-up but was sold on to Bournemouth in 2017.

This was due to the lack of potential first team opportunities with the Blues, meaning he was better off moving elsewhere.

But there's no doubt that Chelsea will regret letting him go.

Ake has really come of age since moving to the south coast and has established himself as one of the first names on Eddie Howe's teamsheet.

Such has been his impact, many expected the defender to move on over the summer with a switch to one of 'the big six' tipped to make a move for the starlet.

However a move didn't materialse.

But that hasn't deterred the defender who once again showed his class in the south coast derby against Southampton on Friday night.

Ake opened the scoring with a wonderful headed goal, and his effort certainly got Chelsea supporters wondering what might have been,

Here's what the Blues' fans have been saying on social media.
