Why Daniel James will not feature for Swansea City at Blackburn Rovers

Daniel James has been ruled out of Swansea City's Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers due to a toe injury.

The Wales international was withdrawn late on in the 1-1 draw with Derby at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday night.

And it's understood the 21-year-old has been struggling with a toe injury for Swansea's last two games and required an injection to ease the problem.

Graham Potter was not willing to risk the youngster in the dead rubber at Ewood Park though, leaving some fans concerned that James may well have played his final game for the Swans given the level of interest he is expected to attract in the summer.

It's understood James has travelled with the squad to Lancashire.

Potter made three changes from the side that drew against Derby, with Courtney Baker-Richardson coming in for James while Jay Fulton and Declan John have replaced Nathan Dyer and Kyle Naughton respectively.
