Why Daniel James's Manchester United transfer may not be as certain as reports suggest

Leeds United transfer target Daniel James is on the verge of a £15m transfer to bitter rivals Manchester United, according to Sky Sports News.

While Manchester Evening News is reporting the opposite, the television channel very strongly believes the Wales international will sign at Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old was little known before the Whites showed interest in January and could barely consider himself a regular starter at Liberty Stadium.

However, after seeing his transfer to West Yorkshire fall through, having been at Elland Road on deadline day, James has hit new heights.

The jet-heeled winger has scored several memorable goals for the Swans and made his Wales debut since January.

Earlier this week, TalkSPORT reported Manchester City were the only of the Premier League’s top-six clubs not looking at the youngster for a summer move.

Aside from the MEN’s counter story, Sport Witness have also suggested the James reports are wide of the mark.

Either way, it would appear the Whites need to be in the Premier League next season if they are to stand any chance of landing their man second time around.
