Why Cowboys fans should be excited about Trysten Hill

With the 58th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected UCF defensive tackle Trysten Hill.

Hill was a backup at UCF, a fact which was absolutely baffling when watching his tape. He is an explosive and athletic interior defensive lineman who fires off the snap and can convert speed to power well. He offers value as a run stuffer and as a pass rusher, and he can eat up gaps pretty well.

There are concerns about his maturity and work ethic, but he has the physical tools to start in the NFL.

The Cowboys have DeMarcus Lawrence and Robert Quinn as edge rushers, but they didn’t have much promise at the defensive tackle position. Hill gives them a high-risk, high-reward option inside.
