Why company behind Obama-era Reflecting Pool renovation declined Trump’s project

Reflecting Pool (Location) Donald Trump

A construction company, Sika Corporation, declined to work on President Donald Trump ’s $14 million renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
The company deemed the project "unfeasible" due to a strict July 4 deadline and the requirement for a blue pool floor.
The renovation has encountered significant issues, including green algae blooms, dead ducks and peeling blue material shortly after its supposed completion.
Trump attributed the problems to vandalism, claiming a "300-foot-long gash" and "illegally placed chemicals" in the water.
Another company, Rhino Linings, took over the contract, but its vice president stated the renovation would not be finished by the July 4 celebrations.
