Why Christian Eriksen's stunning goal vs Everton created Premier League history

The Premier League season is now officially done and dusted after Sunday's final round of games.

Man City took the title after recording an impressive 4-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion after earlier falling behind, with Liverpool finishing in second on 97 points following a brilliant season on Merseyside.

With Chelsea sealing their place in the top four last weekend after Arsenal dropped points against Brighton, Spurs clinched their spot in next season's Champions League with a 2-2 draw against Everton.

Taking an early lead through Eric Dier's close-range finish, the visitors then found themselves in the lead in the closing stages following quickfire goals from Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun.

However, the drama wasn't over there with Christian Eriksen's brilliant free-kick finding the bottom corner of Jordan Pickford's goal.

Well, the Dane's strike actually created history as it broke the previous Premier League record of the most amount of goals scored in a season with 20 teams in the league.

Initially starting with 22 sides in the division back in 1992, the league was whittled down to 20 ahead of the 1995/96 season.

Man City finished the highest scorers in the league this campaign after hitting 95 goals, with Liverpool, once again, just behind on 89.
