Why Celtic won't pay 'silly money' for Aberdeen star Bojan Miovski

Aberdeen star Bojan Miovski will not move to Celtic for "silly money".

That is the view of former Parkhead striker Andy Walker who feels that while the Dons forward could do a job for the Scottish champions, he is is unlikely to join the Parkhead side for the £4.5million being quoted.

The North Macedonia international has scored 11 goals and provide three assists for Barry Robson's men in all competitions so far this season and is reportedly a player Brendan Rodgers is interested in.

However, Walker insists the fee will have to be right for the Hoops. Speaking on Go Radio, he said: "I think he's a good player and better some of the strikers Rangers have got.

"He's a good finisher and I think he can fit into the style of play at Celtic. I can see Celtic coming in for him but I don't think he'll go for silly money though."

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers insists Celtic "might have to" do some work in the January transfer window to sign a forward if certain players are called up to play in the Asian Cup.

Kyogo Furuhashi, Oh Hyeon-gyu, Daizen Maeda and Yang Hyun-jun have all had recent caps for their countries and could play in the January tournament.

This would leave the Scottish champions without a recognised striker after the winter break but Rodgers says the club are prepared for all eventualities.

He said: "Obviously we have been trying to anticipate the guys over the last few months who are going away to the Asian Cup so clearly if Daizen [Maeda] and Kyogo [Furuhashi] are away then we would have to do something in the market."
