The reason Celtic weren't able to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace this summer has been revealed.
The Bhoys were linked with a late loan swoop for the winger as Brendan Rodgers looked to reinforce his frontline.
Ultimately, a move never came to fruition, and Rak-Sakyi remains at Selhurst Park.
Journalist Mark Hendry reports on his Substack that Celtic weren't able to do a deal for the 22-year-old because Palace wanted to sell the player rather than loan him out.

They were said to be demanding £12million for Rak-Sakyi, a fee the Parkhead club weren't willing to cough up.
Even if Rak-Sakyi was allowed to leave on loan, Palace wanted an obligation to buy included for the aforementioned price, which, once again, Celtic didn't want to pay.
Although Rak-Sakyi is understood not to be in Palace's plans for the new season, he has been included as a homegrown player in their UEFA Conference League squad.
In the end, although they missed out on the England under-21 internationalist, Celtic managed to secure the services of Tunisian winger Sebastian Tounekti before the close of business for £5.2million.
Free agent striker Kelechi Iheanacho then signed 24 hours later, having worked with boss Rodgers at Leicester City.
