Why Burnley fans booed Arsenal's David Luiz throughout the Premier League clash at Turf Moor

Arsenal played out a goalless draw against Burnley at Turf Moor, but it was not an entirely comfortable afternoon for some of their players.

One player in particular who received jeers from the home supporters throughout the game was Gunners defender David Luiz.

It is thought one reason for the Brazilian's unpopularity with the Clarets' fans could date back to his time at Chelsea.

Last season, the Blues played out a 2-2 draw against Burnley at Stamford Bridge towards the end of the season. It was a result which all but secured Premier League safety for Sean Dyche's side.

Luiz, who played in the game, accused Burnley of "anti-football" at the final whistle, for what he perceived to be time wasting from the visitors.

"It's anti-football," Luiz told Sky Sports.

"Losing time all the time, especially when you have the ball. Their players went to the floor and stopped the game.

"They were playing 11 inside the box. It's difficult to score against a team like that.

"It's difficult when you play against a team who have two chances and score two goals and didn't want to play the game."
