Why Bristol City are not being fooled by Leeds United's poor run of results

Bristol City assistant boss Jamie McAllister believes that Leeds United's poor run of results does not mean that they are out of form as his side prepare to travel to Elland Road this weekend.

The Whites welcome the Robins this weekend to Elland Road for a Championship encounter as both sides continue to chase a promotion berth and a place in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa and his men remain in second place, though they are only ahead of their rivals on goal difference.

Speaking ahead of the tip up to West Yorkshire, McAllister however felt that United's recent struggles, which have seen them earn just two wins since Christmas, does not mean that they are suffering a serious crisis of confidence however.

"You’ve got to look at the league," he stated in his pre-match press conference. "Leeds are second, we’re seventh, and there’s three points between us. It’s incredible. It’s up to us to go on that run again.

"We’ve picked up a lot of things over the past few months. Obviously from playing against them this season, they were very good against us. They were excellent.

"We have got a game plan, we think it’s going to affect them.

"Everyone is saying about how poor Leeds are at the moment, and their form is. But their games we’ve watched, they’ve been excellent. They’ve just been unfortunate not to get the three points.

"Against Brentford, they were very good on Tuesday night, to go and really dominate the ball in the first half.

"So, for us we still think they’re in good form although the results don’t suggest that. We know what their threats are and how good they are.

"[Bielsa is] a top coach, one of the best in the world. They’ve got real quality in the side as well, so it’s a big challenge for us.
