Why Bills fans should be excited about Cody Ford

The Buffalo Bills added some talent to their offensive line, selecting Oklahoma offensive lineman Cody Ford with the 38th overall pick.

The six-foot-four, 329-pound Ford has a bulky and massive frame with a lot of mass in his lower body. He is a strong blocker who blocks with a high motor and packs a powerful punch. He has the anchor strength to hold defensive linemen in their place, and he’s also a good athlete for his size – his lateral agility is impressive for such a big man.

While his pass sets and balance could use some work, his combination of size, strength and speed project him as an instant starter in the NFL.

Buffalo added Mitch Morse and Ty Nsekhe in free agency to help protect Josh Allen, and adding Ford ensures that they are able to protect their franchise quarterback. With this selection and their first-round pick of Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver, the Bills show their dedication to winning in the trenches.
