Why BBC series The Secret She Keeps is set to be your next TV binge watch

You may have noticed some chatter on social media about new BBC drama The Secret She Keeps and wondered what all the fuss is about, but we can assure you if you like thrilling drama with lots of shocking twists and turns this is the series for you.

The first episode aired on Monday night on BBC One to rave reviews but if like us you can't wait to just keep going, the full series is now available on the BBC iPlayer so you can binge until your heart is content.

But what is it about?

The six-part series which first aired in Australia follows the story of two women both pregnant, but with very different circumstances. Meghan Shaughnessy is happily pregnant with her third child but husband Jack seems less than excited as he worries about money issues and work stresses.

Elsewhere in the same small Australian town, Agatha Fyfle is also pregnant, but her life couldn't be more different from Meghan's. Both women have secrets and their worlds manage to collide in the most dramatic of fashions.

If you're a fan of Downtown Abbey you'll recognise Laura Carmichael who played Lady Edith Crawley, she stars in The Secret She Keeps as Agatha or Aggie as her character is known.

Starring alongside her in the role of Meghan is actress Jessica De Gouw and her husband Jack, played by actor Michael Dorman who you'll recognise you've seen 2020 remake of The Invisible man.

If you love a gripping, series with a few shocking elements along the way then get this on your watch list for this weekend.

The Secret She Keeps continues on Monday nights on BBC One or catch it online now on BBC iPlayer.
