Why Barnsley are confident of upsetting 'massive' Nottingham Forest in front of sell-out crowd

Cauley Woodrow hopes Barnsley can replicate their battling display against Leeds United last weekend, albeit with a better outcome.

The Tykes dropped into the Championship’s relegation zone with a late 2-0 defeat at Oakwell, a result which sent Leeds top, and now things don’t get any easier with a visit to Nottingham Forest this afternoon, despite performing admirably.

Forest, under new head coach Sabri Lamouchi are flying after an impressive 1-0 win away at Swansea last weekend, and come into the game unbeaten since the opening game of the season.

Barnsley haven’t tasted victory since the first weekend when they overpowered Fulham, and Woodrow, who returned to action against Leeds after missing a month of the campaign, is excited about playing in front of a sell-out City Ground crowd, though he's determined to be on the end of a positive result.

“They’re a massive club with a fantastic stadium and we’ve got to go there with the same mindset that we had at the weekend and put in the same performance,” the 24-year-old said.

“I’m sure that if we do that then we can come out with something from the game.”

Despite producing a battling showing in defeat to Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites, Woodrow is confident his teammates can produce a display to overturn the form book at Forest and lift some of the gloom around Oakwell at recent results.

“It’s important that we’re like that every week – obviously against Leeds it was a derby and you get yourself up for it, but we’re up for it in every game; it doesn’t matter if it’s Leeds or Nottingham Forest this weekend,” he said.

“We have exactly the same mindset because we’re at the bottom of the league now and we need to pick up points to get us out of that position.”
