Why Arsenal v Nottingham Forest isn't being shown live on TV in the UK

Arsenal host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon but the game won't be shown live on TV in the UK.

That's because there is a lack of available slots to show the game.

Confused? Read on. The two sides meet at the Emirates at 2pm this afternoon, with Manchester United playing West Ham United at 4.15pm in a game which is being broadcast on Sky.

Usually on a Sunday there are fixtures broadcast at 2pm and one later, either at 4pm, 4.15pm or 4.30pm, but due to fixture congestion and European ties this week and next, this weekend Sky Sports only had four live games, and they had originally planned to show Liverpool's clash with Leeds United at Anfield in the Sunday 2pm slot.

But that game was shifted to Saturday night because with Liverpool playing Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday, and having played away at Ajax last Wednesday, it had to be moved to last night's time slot of 7.45pm.

The upshot means Arsenal v Forest can't be shown live on UK TV - although foreign audiences can tune in.
