Why Arsenal could miss out on James Rodriguez transfer to Man Utd or Chelsea

James Rodriguez has been heavily linked with a Premier League move this summer.

The Colombian has spent the last two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich but they are not set to trigger his purchase option meaning he will head back to Real Madrid .

But according to Marca , Los Blancos are not keen to keep Rodriguez and are already plotting his next exit with a host of top Premier League clubs linked with a move.

Arsenal were heavily tipped to make a January loan move and are now said to have repeatedly enquired about his availability ahead of the summer transfer window.

Manchester United and Chelsea have also emerged as options for Rodriguez in recent weeks, with the pair fondly admiring the player.

With Real Madrid plotting moves for star players from both clubs in the form of Paul Pogba and Eden Hazard, Rodriguez could become a key part of negotiations and be sent in the opposite direction.

It could result in Arsenal falling down the list of potential suitors, with Madrid keen to make use of the demand from United and Chelsea to aid their Pogba and Hazard pursuits.

Liverpool and Tottenham have also been touted as possible landing spots for Rodriguez in the past, who remains a talent attracting plenty of interest despite a tough couple of years.

Rodriguez could also see his value rise in the Copa America this summer, resulting in clubs being keen to act as soon as possible to land him at the best possible price.
