Why armed police were called to south Bristol today

Armed police arrested three teenagers in south Bristol today (November 5).

Officers arrested the teens in George's Cafe in East Street in Bedminster at around 10.30am.

The arrests were made in relation to an earlier incident in Hartcliffe.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "At 10.30am this morning we arrested three teenagers from a property in East Street in Bedminster.

"The arrests were made as part of an on-going inquiry into an earlier affray incident in the Hartcliffe area of the city.

"Armed officers were involved as a precaution.

"Police enquiries are continuing."
