Why are Eamonn and Ruth not presenting This Morning during half-term?

This Morning viewers weren’t too happy to find out that Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford won't be hosting the show this week.

The popular broadcasting couple previously presented the ITV daytime show every Friday and during school holidays.

In January they were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermont O’Leary in the Friday slot, however, it was expected the pair would return as hosts during the Summer, at Easter, and over other breaks.

But viewers were surprised to find that Alison and Dermot are replacing Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield this week while they take a break.

Prior to them taking over presenting duties for the week ahead, a trailer informed viewers of the changes.

This led to many fans taking to social media to ask why Eamonn and Ruth weren’t presenting as it was half-term.

The couple were last seen on the show covering for Holly and Phil last month during the Easter holidays, which only heightened the curiosity and concern of fans as to why they won’t appear on our screens this week.

Eamonn and Ruth have not commented on why they aren't presenting the popular daytime show this week. However, there's no need to worry.

When asked about the news last week, an ITV Spokesperson said: “Alison and Dermot were always due to present next week.

“Eamonn and Ruth will be presenting over the summer.”

Reacting to the news that Eamonn and Ruth would be absent from the show this week, one fan said: “God I miss Eamonn and Ruth already! #ThisMorning”

While another fan added: “Thought Ruth & Eamonn did half terms, where are they next week? Only reason I watch is when those two are on. #ThisMorning”
