Why Anthony Martial starts for Manchester United against Norwich

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that Anthony Martial needs to 'grow his confidence' by starting for Manchester United against Norwich in the Premier League.

United have made seven changes from the side which defeated FK Partizan in the Europa League midweek, with Martial one of four starters from the line up in Serbia.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay also started at Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon as United look to extend their unbeaten run to three matches.

United’s next goal will see them become the first team in Premier League history to score 2000 goals in the competition, and Solskjaer has faith that Martial can deliver the goods.

Speaking ahead of the clash at Carrow Road, the United manager praised the French forward and how he has has responded following an injury lay-off.

"I thought Anthony looked really sharp when he started the season, from day one in pre-season," Solskjaer told MUTV.

"The injury of course set him back, but we need to give him minutes, we need to give him the chance to grow his confidence and his performances again.

"It was great for him to get a goal against Partizan and now hopefully he can kick on.

"I think we have managed to take Aaron (Wan-Bissaka), Anthony (Martial) off after 60 minutes (against Partizan), it was only Scott (McTominay) and Harry (Maguire) that played 90. Rested a few, so we should be ready for this game."
