Why air ambulance was called to part of Nottinghamshire

An air ambulance was called to Sutton-in-Ashfield because a 57-year-old man was having a cardiac arrest.

Police were called to Westbourne Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service at 9.34am on Sunday (August 30).

An ambulance landed - but wasn't used - and the man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "They did not ask for an escort. They used a land ambulance to take him."
