Why air ambulance and paramedics were called to Calverton

A patient has been taken to the Queen's Medical Centre after the air ambulance was called to an emergency in a Nottinghamshire village.

The air ambulance and East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics were called to Calverton on Tuesday afternoon (June 23) to a medical emergency.

The air ambulance appeared to have landed on grass off Ramsdale Avenue and paramedics were seen running towards Collyer Road.

EMAS sent two paramedics in ambulance cars, a crewed ambulance, a doctor and the air ambulance to the incident.

An East Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "We received a call today, 23 June at 1.10pm to Calverton, to assist with a medical emergency.

"We sent two paramedics in ambulance cars, a crewed ambulance, a doctor and the air ambulance. We transported one patient to Queen's Medical Centre by land ambulance."
