Why a police helicopter was hovering over Port Talbot for some time last night

A man was taken to hospital following a search which involved a police helicopter in Port Talbot on Monday evening and during the early hours of Tuesday.

A number of people reported on social media hearing a helicopter hovering above their homes in the area just after midnight on February 23.

The reason was a report of a missing man from Aberavon. The man was later located on Baglan mountain and was taken to hospital.

South Wales Police confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that the man is currently in a stable condition.
