Stop me if you have heard this one before. The Timberwolves and Clippers had a delay in their game because a fan tried to glue themselves to the court.
Every so often, something will happen in an NBA game that will make me want to text everyone I know who doesn’t watch basketball. This was one of those examples. During a high-intensity postseason game that determined the playoff seeding, it’s this moment I keep thinking about.
Let’s be honest with ourselves here. If you hear that someone tried to glue themselves to the court during the middle of game action, I challenge you to tell me a more interesting thing you heard today.

It was nearing the end of the second quarter when TNT’s broadcasters fairly assumed that an arena worker had fallen down, or potentially even fainted.
But that tone quickly changed when the announcers noticed that fans were booing. Typically, an employee who faints doesn’t get booed. That is usually reserved for streakers or other unwanted guests who rush the court.
Then, it wasn’t long before the broadcasting team got word that the fan was on the court demonstrating a protest. Allie La Force provided the details, breaking the news that the fan glued herself to the floor and then refused to move her wrist.

The fan wore a shirt that read, “Glen Taylor Roasts Animals Alive.”
Taylor, a Minnesota businessman who is the primary owner of the Timberwolves, also owns an egg farm. As noted by La Force, Taylor’s farm recently threatened to kill chickens due to a bird flu outbreak.

According to a press release from San Francisco activist group Direct Action Everywhere, known for disruptive protests and non-violent direct action, the protestor was a woman from California named Alicia Santurio.
