Whoville-inspired Christmas Markets coming to Salford with Grinch present trail

Whoville Christmas Markets are coming to Salford with Grinch-themed fun for families.

The event arrives at the Lowry Outlet next month as The Lowry theatre prepares for the arrival of .

As well as Whoville-inspired treats at The Makers Markets, including Who Puddings such as Grinch Macaroons, there will be lots of activities for little ones to enjoy.

Inside the mall, a special Whoville Post Office will be set up for children to send their letters to Santa.

Elves will be on hand to help those little Cindy-Lou Whos decide what to ask Father Christmas for and there'll be plenty of photo opportunities.

Families will also be able to take part in a Whoville Present Trail to see if they can find the 16 presents stolen by the Grinch and hidden around the mall.

Collect a map and search high and low to find the Whoville residents’ Christmas gifts.

There'll be something for your little bookworms too, with a Mount Crumpit reading area, open daily between 10am to 4pm, offering books for little Whos who love to read.

The Whoville Christmas Markets will start on Thursday, November 21 and run every weekend until Sunday, December 22.

They'll open from 10am to 7pm on Saturdays and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.

On the first two days, November 21 and 22, they'll be open from 10am to 7pm.

The whole month of whobilations coincides with , which runs from Tuesday, December 10 until Sunday, January 5, 2020.

And it's not the only fun happening there this Christmas.

A full-size ice rink is also returning to Salford Quays alongside the MediaCityUK Christmas Markets.

Both will open on Friday, November 15 to coincide with MediaCityUK's Christmas lights switch on, and will run until December 23.

Salford Quays will also host the annual Lightwaves digital art festival from December 6 to 15, which will include a playground of light-up musical seesaws this year .
