Whoopi Goldberg has sent a special message from the Anansi Boys set in Edinburgh, alongside Lenny Henry and Neil Gaiman.

The trio smiled for the camera for the The View and left a special video message for fans.

Opening the video, Lenny Henry joked: "Hi my name is Whoopi Goldberg, I'm here in Edinburgh with Neil Gaiman and Lenny Henry, boy are we having a good time!"

He then nudges Whoopi and she says: "Yes we are having a great time, we were shooting Anansi Boys!"

Neil then adds: "Hi I'm Neil Gaiman and I'm here with Whoopi Goldberg and Lenny Henry and we're making Anansi Boys.

"Thank you to everybody who agreed to lend us Whoopi Goldberg, we will give her back!"

And fans were loving the video.

Whoopi is all set to play Bird Woman in new Amazon Prime show.

Anansi Boys, the six-part drama that has been adapted from the novel by Neil Gaiman, follows the story of the spider-god Anansi's two sons.

Filming and production for the show had been in the works for many years, with the original plan for the series in 2014 instead being tied in with American Gods, an adaptation by Starz.

Now, filming is well underway, with the capital already being used by the likes of David Tennant and Michael Sheen, who starred in Good Omens, another Amazon production based on a similar theme.
