Whole flock of 100 sheep start chasing jogger after finding them lost in woods

A jogger was left bemused after a flock of sheep joined her for a spot of exercise.

Eleanor Scholz was hiking near Puy de Dome in central France when she came across the trail runner and her unusual followers.

Artist Eleanor captured video of the sheep running behind the woman and then stopping as soon as she did.

The runner told Eleanor that the flock of sheep had become lost in the woods and had begun following her.

She said that she was looking for the area where they started following her in order to return them to their owner.

The Daily Mail reports that the runner stopped to chat to Scholz for a few minutes in order to inform her about the peculiar situation and the sheep waited patiently for her to finish talking.

The video then shows the woman resume her run, with the 100 sheep hot on her heels.

Eleanor made a joke that the woman was now a “shepherdess” on Instagram.

In a further social media update she posted that the runner had told her than she was leading the sheep back to where she'd seen some pastures earlier on in her run.

She added: “It wouldn’t have been difficult to ask around in that small community and figure out who they belong to, since the sheep were all painted to identify which farm they came from.”

Eleanor joked that the farmer would be confused upon realising that their flock had gone missing, only to the discover they had been for a jog.

It is not known why the sheep began following the woman in the first place or whether they ended up back at their farm.
