Who would make the best celebrity tour guide for London?

Jessie J Guest of honour london
Jessie J: great at singing but would she make a good tour guide?

For some, it would be the prize of a lifetime. For others, it would be the most awkward day out imaginable.

But VisitLondon is offering one (maybe) lucky person the chance to tour London like a VIP, in the company of celebrities from the world of music, TV and sport.

Among the experiences the winner will enjoy – which will take place over the course of a two-week holiday – is a tour of the Science Museum with Professor Stephen Hawking, watching a West End musical with singer Jessie J and afternoon tea with the butler from Downton Abbey, Carson, played by Jim Carter. We’re not sure at this point whether he will be in character or not.

You’ll also check out the Royal Opera House with Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell and have what may be a passionate conversation about life, the universe and everything with former tennis champion Tim Henman during a visit to Wimbledon.

If you find all this incredibly cloying, then you can let off steam by firing the guns from the HMS Belfast at your least favourite tour guide. OK, only a part of that is true. You do get to fire the guns, which is, we have to admit, pretty awesome.

But which celebrity would you most like to show you around London? Where would they take you and how would they add to the experience?
