Who would be ‘ideal’ first-round picks for Vikings?

After trading Stefon Diggs to the Bills, the Vikings are loaded with two first-round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Chad Reuter and Lance Zierlein over at NFL.com put together the most ‘ideal’ top two picks for each team in the draft. This isn’t a mock draft. Instead, it’s two players who could be available that the Vikings would be happy with.

With the 22nd pick, the player the Vikings is Penn State defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and with the 25th pick, the player is Baylor wide receiver Denzel Mims.

Without getting to the players specifically, these fit two team needs for the Vikings. With the likely loss of defensive end Everson Griffen, along with the trading of Diggs, the Vikings are thin at defensive end and wide receiver.

If these are the first two picks for the Vikings, I would expect the pick to be a cornerback in the second round.

As we know during the NFL draft, very few things end up being ‘ideal’.
