Who won the Grand National 2021?

Minella Times has won the Grand National 2021 - with his jockey becoming the first woman to win the historic event.

Forty horses competed for the prize at Aintree at 5.15pm, with the prestigious race taking place without spectators due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The favourite had won in each of the races leading up to the main event at Aintree on Saturday (April 10), and Cloth Cap was the 11-2 favourite heading into the final race.

But it was Minella Times that crossed the line in first place, with jockey Rachael Blackmore becoming the first woman to win the Grand National.

She told ITV : "He was just incredible, he jumped beautifully.

"When we jumped the last and I asked him for a bit he was there. It was just incredible."

Minella Times, a winner at Cheltenham, was fourth-favourite heading into the event at 11-1.

It was the first Grand National held in two years, with the 2020 event cancelled due to Covid.
