Who won the General Election 2019? SNP gains in Scotland as Tories win majority

The Conservatives have won their biggest majority since the 1980s.

The Tories have secured an overall majority defeating Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party.

In Scotland, the SNP have won 48 seats, the Conservatives six, the Liberal Democrats four and Labour one.

Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson lost her East Dunbartonshire seat and Jeremy Corbyn announced he would step down as Labour leader before the next election.
