Who won Masked Dancer? Carwash triumphs in final and is revealed as gymnast Louis Smith

The Masked Dancer has a winner and the champion dancer in disguise was none other than Olympic gymnast and former Strictly Come Dancing champion Louis Smith.

After a week of the panel and millions of viewers at home trying to work out the answer to that all important question 'who's that behind the mask?' the final four bid for victory in Saturday's final and it was bookies favourite Carwash who triumphed.

Following a series of amazing routines including ones to the Grease Megamix and Bruno Mars' 24k Magic, the virtual audience chose Carwash as their winner after Scarecrow finished fourth, Zip in third and Squirrel as runner up.

Tamzin Outhwaite, Howard Donald and Bonnie Langford all took off their masks before the big moment when Louis was revealed as Scarecrow.

Panellist Mo Gillgan guessed it was Louis while other predictions included fellow gymnast Max Whitlock and JLS star Aston Merrygold who was on The Masked Singer earlier this year.

After host Joel Dommett told him: "You've won another show!" Louis replied: "It's been the most bonkers thing I've ever done but the most enjoyable thing. It's been madness."

Explaining some of the clues, Louis revealed the silver tyres were for his Olympic silver medal, while a joke about a 'little horse' was in reference to his gymnast apparatus of choice - the pommel horse.

Davina McCall said she thought it might be Louis when Carwash did a flip during one of his routines, recalling that Louis had done something similar in a hotel lobby while being on Channel 4 show The Jump.

While not everyone at home guessed Louis, they all agreed Carwash was a very worthy Masked Dancer winner, with one tweeting: "Brilliant Car Wash ... Louis Smith. Congratulations.... 100% the best" and a second commenting: "Yes Car Wash.... winner. Louis Smith perfect. Congratulations."
