Love Island 2021 is over after eight weeks of recouplings by the firepit, cracking on and outbursts of "I've got a text!".
After a dramatic season where all couples faced various challenges, viewers finally found out who would become the 2021 champions.
Although Love Island gives contestants a chance at finding love, we must not forget that it is a competition.
The winning couple receives £50,000 – but one of them has the choice of whether to keep the whole sum, or to share it with the other half.
So far no one has been merciless enough to pocket the whole prize.
Here we take a closer look at all the Love Island winners to date, and how they spent the £50,000 prize money.
Millie Court and Liam Reardon – 2021
Millie and Liam were crowned the winners of Love Island 2021.
After they were announced as the winners, Millie picked the envelope which contained the £50,000, meaning she had the choice of stealing or splitting.
However, instead of pocketing the whole sum herself, she decided to split it evenly with Liam.
It remains to be seen what the pair, who became boyfriend and girlfriend during the final episode, decide to do with the money when they return to the UK.
Paige Turley and Finley Tapp – 2020
Paige and Finn won the first ever winter version of Love Island in 2020 – and they are still together.
As well as finding love in South Africa, they also nabbed the £50,000 prize money.
In a strange turn of events, Paige and Finn weren't able to go on a spending spree straight away after they returned, because that was when the coronavirus lockdown hit.
Speaking to the Metro, Finley explained: "Well, we haven’t had the chance to really spend any it. Just cooking bits, food… That’s about it, really.
"We haven’t had a chance to do much with it. We’ve got an Xbox that’s keeping us entertained. A camera for some photos but that’s as exciting as it gets.
"I certainly do want to buy a few bits. That’s the thing, as well… You’re looking at some clothes online and you’re thinking, “That looks really nice”. But you think, I can’t spend my money on that, where would I wear it? Just in the back garden?"
Greg O'Shea and Amber Gill – 2019
Greg and Amber unfortunately split less than two months after winning the fifth season of Love Island.
Greg, who decided to share the money with Amber, decided to save his money like a "boring old fart".
He explained: "I just saved it. I actually kept it in an English bank account and waited for the conversion rate to improve before bringing it across [to Ireland]."
Amber did the same, telling Closer: "I'll probably treat myself a little bit, but I'm going to invest and be careful with it."
The beautician went on to secure a seven-figure deal with clothing brand Misspap.
Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer - 2018
Jack and Dani moved together after winning the £50,000, but they had a turbulent relationship after that.
They split, got back together, before ending it for good.
Speaking about how she spent her half of the money, Dani said: "I put it into savings because I want to get a mortgage. This is what I did."
The mum-of-one added that she saved "most of it" but that "a lot of it goes on your bills and stuff doesn't it".
Meanwhile, her ex Jack has been more private about what he spent his money on.
Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies – 2017
Kem and Amber split the prize money equally after being crowned winners in 2017.
The couple, who broke up just six months later, went on a little spending spree with the money.
Speaking to The Sun, Amber said: "I bought myself a Chanel bag. I thought to myself, 'well I did win the show' so I treated myself to a celebratory Chanel bag. Just one handbag isn’t going to hurt is it?
"Kem has bought hundreds of trainers, trainers and trainers and trainers. I leave that to him. He has spoilt me rotten too though. I feel so lucky."
Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey – 2016
Despite splitting briefly after Love Island, Cara and Nathan are still together to this day.
They married in 2019, and have two children, Freddie and Delilah.
Cara, who planned to use half of it to help her mum, said at the time: "I can't wait to get home and now I can buy my mum a house and give her the deposit for it."
Meanwhile, Nathan said he would be treating his dad to a "golfing trip".
Max Morley and Jessica Hayes – 2015
Max and Jessica, who won the very first season of Love Island back in 2015, split two months later.
At the time Jess said that "some things aren't meant to be".
They split the cash evenly, but Jessica later admitted she wishes she had chosen the money over love.
In a warning to future contestants, she said: "Don’t fall in love and just take the fifty grand."
Neither of them have disclosed what they spent the prize money on.
