Who won Celebrity MasterChef 2019? Greg Rutherford named winner during final

Greg Rutherford has added another gong to his medal ­collection after being crowned Celebrity MasterChef 2019 king.

The Olympic gold winner beat reality star Vicky Pattison and former footballer Neil Ruddock in the final of the BBC programme.

Retired long-jumper Greg stole the show with an “ambitious” ­three-course meal that impressed judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

The 32-year-old said: “This is a massive achievement.

“I used everything I learnt as a ­sportsperson to dedicate my time and energy into creating the best food I possibly could. I’m over the moon.”

Greg’s dishes included a main of crusted lamb cutlets.

John said: “Greg is a deserving winner.”

Gregg added: “I knew Greg would be ambitious but I didn’t quite know how ambitious.”

Greg won gold at the London Olympics in 2012 and the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The former Strictly star also has three others from World and European athletics competitions.
