Who won Britain's Got Talent last year? Auditions for 2020 kick off on ITV

Britain's Got Talent 2020 kicks off on ITV on Saturday night, with a host of acts looking to follow in the footsteps of last year's winner.

Yes, it's hard to believe that it's been nearly 12 months since the last series of BGT aired, which was of course followed by The Champions show, which was won by dance duo Twist & Pulse.

While it was revealed a few weeks ago that the Britain's Got Talent live shows had been postponed due to coronavirus, the audition stages have already been recorded, with viewers getting their first look at this year's acts on Saturday.

As cast our eye over this year's con tenders, we look back to last year and remember who triumphed in 2019.

Who won Britain's Got Talent last year?

Britain's Got Talent 2019 was one by singing Chelsea Pensioner Colin Thackery.

David Walliams told the 89 year old he was "unbeatable" and that proved to be true as Colin beat runner up X and third place act Richard Hart to win.

Colin said he "couldn't believe it," but after serving The Queen for 25 years in the Royal Artillery, will now get the chance to perform for The Royal Family at last year's Royal Variety Performance.

He was due to tour earlier this year but the shows were pulled due to ill health.
