Who wins the Six Nations if England beat Ireland after France's win over Wales

Ireland now know exactly what is required to win the Six Nations title against England.

France's 41-28 bonus point win over Wales in Paris means they are one point ahead of the Irish in the Six Nations table as Ireland v England kicks off.

Andy Farrell's side will win the title and Grand Slam with any sort of victory, while a draw will also be enough to take the title, albeit without a Grand Slam.

If Ireland lose to England, things get more complicated.

Ireland will still win the title if they pick up two bonus points for losing by seven points or less and scoring four tries.

If they fail to pick up any bonus points, France win the Six Nations

If Ireland get one bonus point, the two teams will be tied on points, with the next deciding factor being points difference.

As Ireland v England kicks off, Ireland have a superior points difference of seven.

If the teams finish level on points and points difference, the next deciding factor is tries scored. France have now scored 20 tries to Ireland's 16.
