Who will win the Premier League title? Liverpool cede control to Man City with nine to play

Just five weeks ago Liverpool welcomed Leicester to Anfield knowing victory would hand them a commanding seven-point lead in the Premier League title race.

City had just lost for the third time in seven League matches, collapsing to defeat at struggling Newcastle despite Sergio Aguero opening the scoring inside the first minute.

However, the Reds failed to take advantage against the Foxes. They too scored early, but Sadio Mane's third-minute strike was cancelled out by Harry Maguire's equaliser on the stroke of half-time.

While Liverpool edged five points clear of their closest title rivals with that point, the pychological impact of failing to stride a further two ahead of City told in the ensuing weeks.

Despite thumping wins at Anfield over Bournemouth and Watford, Jurgen Klopp's men have drawn four of their last six Premier League fixtures.

Gameweek Liverpool fixtures Man City fixtures
30 Burnley (H) Watford (H)
31 Fulham (A) Fulham (A)
32 Spurs (H) Cardiff (H)
33 Saints (A) Palace (A)
34 Chelsea (H) Spurs (H)
35 Cardiff (A) Man Utd (A)
36 H'field (H) Burnley (A)
37 N'castle (A) Leicester (H)
38 Wolves (H) Brighton (A)

The nine points gathered since their draw with Leicester came during a period in which City picked up a perfect 15 points from 15, thrashing Chelsea 6-0, brushing aside Arsenal and lifting the League Cup for good measure.

It means City sit top of the Premier League for the first time since gameweek 15. But with nine games to play, who will come out on top? Have your say in out poll below...
