Who will win Rangers vs Celtic? Our writers make their predictions for the final derby of the season

The last derby of 2020-21 is almost upon us and there's still something riding on proceedings at Ibrox even if there's not as much to play for as fans would be accustomed to.

It's a chance for Rangers to retain their unbeaten league record with just three matches to go and Steven Gerrard will be eyeing that unique slice of Scottish footballing history.

On the other hand, Celtic will be desperate to end their barren run in this fixture having gone five games without a win.

Not only that, but this Hoops side need to show their prospective new boss they're worth keeping around in what will doubtless be a momentous rebuild at Parkhead.

Something's gotta give - here's how the top team at Record Sport predict the action will unfold.

Our predictions

Michael Gannon

It’s a game both sides could probably have done without at the end of a long season. Rangers losing key men will have an impact but Celtic are fragile in this fixture. A draw looks the most likely outcome.

Rangers 1 Celtic 1

Scott Burns

I expect Celtic to take something but it won’t be enough to stop Rangers continuing their unbeaten league run. It wouldn’t be the biggest of surprises to see Celtic captain Scott Brown make his mark in his final Old Firm battle. I would back Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Kent to get the goals.

David McCarthy

Celtic can score for the first time at Ibrox this season, helped by the absence of Helander and Balogun from the Rangers back line. But Gerrard’s strike force is capable of doing more damage at the other end and I think they’ll emerge victorious again.

Rangers 2 Celtic 1

Craig Swan

Rangers haven’t lost to Celtic all season which means there’s no evidence to suggest they will here. The visitors, however, may also avoid a third Ibrox defeat of the campaign.

Rangers 1 Celtic 1

Graeme Young

Celtic are verging towards Paranormal Activity territory when it comes to the amount of sitters they pass up on a weekly basis. John Kennedy admits the time for excuses is over but there’s no guarantee his side will rediscover their cutting edge at Ibrox.

Rangers will be hell-bent on making amends after last week’s Scottish Cup heartache. Expect the hosts to have enough to edge a surprisingly open contest and keep their undefeated Premiership hopes alive.

Rangers 3 Celtic 2

Liam Bryce

The last Premiership derby back in March was anything but a thriller and it’s hard to envisage this one having a different feel. Rangers’ final priority is to see out the season unbeaten and despite being at home would likely take a draw.

Celtic have nothing left to lose but have swung for their rivals and missed too many times already this season.

Rangers 1 Celtic 1

Gavin Berry

With the pressure off both teams hopefully they can serve up an end of season treat with plenty of goals. Celtic have created chances in this fixture without taking them but that can change with Gers missing Filip Helander though the home side have enough to remain unbeaten.

Rangers 2 Celtic 2

Gabriel McKay

Rangers will know this is the biggest hurdle in their path as they look to end the league season unbeaten - and the visitors will know it too.

Celtic also have the motivation of Scott Brown's derby last dance but it's hard to see a thriller here. Rangers have been off the boil since the title was sealed and Celtic are focused on next season.

Rangers 0 Celtic 0
