Today the leaders of the PPP and PML-N are due to meet.
Though Zardari has also met Musharraf, his feelings towards the former general will have hardened since those coalition talks.
Why? Because this morning it emerged Musharraf had taken steps to resurrect a corruption case against Zardari.
Is this a threat? Will Zardari choose Musharraf for his government in order to head off the case? Or will it drive him to Sharif, despite differences those two men have?
We'll try to keep tabs on any progress made.

200 lawyers have set about freeing Pakistan's ousted chief justice - Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry - from house arrest.
Even though the judiciary look likely to be reinstated some time soon, the police fired tear gas on them - treating them just as roughly as before the elections.
Chaudry is a determined man.
Though his phone has been cut off there are reports he used a smuggled mobile phone to call lawyers to two locations, the Sindh High Court Bar Association in Karachi and Quetta's courthouse.
The restoration of the judiciary will be one of the main issues discussed when Zardari and Sharif meet shortly.
Their positions are this: Sharif thinks the judges should be reinstated to rule on Musharraf's fate, Zardari thinks parliament should make the decision.
These two big men have not yet met.
