Barcelona rounded off their Champions League group stage campaign with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham at Camp Nou.
Having already topped the group with a game to spare, Ernesto Valverde sent out a weakened side against Spurs, with Luis Suarez and, initially, Lionel Messi rested. Barca’s second string, though, is still bursting world class talent and looked to be on the way to sending Mauricio Pochettino’s side out of the tournament when Ousmane Dembele pounced on a mistake from Kyle Walker-Peters and put the hosts ahead inside ten minutes.
An accomplished Tottenham performance was rewarded with a goal for Lucas Moura, however, and the side shared the points, with Barcelona taking their home unbeaten run in the Champions League to 29, equalling the record held by Bayern Munich.
That form will again come in handy in the knockout stages, with the second leg of their last 16 tie to be played at Camp Nou, a perk of finishing top of the group.
